GARDENS
Our garden areas are gradually taking shape! Each one can be visited from the walking path. If you'd like to help maintain the garden areas, please contact us! We're a small church family with big dreams of sharing produce from the property with our neighbors!
We are grateful for two of our families' generous donations which will fund many beautiful improvements now being planned for the area from Schumann Drive to the parking lot.
IMPORTANT: Though we grow organically, you assume all responsibility for your vehicle, valuables, physical well-being on church grounds. The gardens and walking path are "improved" natural areas - they are NOT level and manicured. Pine stumps and many roots - large and small, visible and hidden, "roam" the property!
BUTTERFLY GARDEN
Plans are in the works for an educational butterfly garden gifted in memory of John Thomas, a faithful servant of Christ and others for decades.
A collection of flowering native flowers and shrubs will attract and nourish pollinators. Seating and walking areas will provide a place for quiet reflection, joyful exploration, and Creation education!
TREES & ANNUALS
Mango, avocado, moringa, banana, pigeon peas join the occasional tomato, arrow root and other edibles in various area of the property.
Pineapples enjoy the acidic soil of the soaring pines. (No - that isn't why they're called "pineapples"!).
You may see some annual plants in seemingly random places. Like any "non-profit," we DO love a "volunteer" - and we try to help them thrive! So if you spy a rogue tomato that's too ripe to leave, you may pluck it and eat at your own risk after washing.
TROPICAL FOOD FOREST
Explore a tropical food forest!
Metal tags identify various species. Some are very familiar, but you may not have realized their food value.. Others are less common, and perhaps even on the exotic side!
Don't expect a neat manicure here - it's a forest! Remember, too, that God's creatures love this environment - rabbits, snakes, raccoons, bobcats, field mice, rats - stay alert!
